it's too much, i need some..

it's a holiday with nike

this is from the new nike fall/holiday 2010 collection. i'm kind of in love with the range and really happy that nike is going against the grain, it seems like the current trend is all about sport shoes (gross) and low tops or plimsolls. and i like the fact that this collection is really female friendly. the top pic is women's nike dunk hi premium. they're just beyond awesome and is my current desktop wallpaper.

the other dunks are called maharam and they're pretty epic too, they remind me of my nike id's in a diff colourway riiight? i love me a skinny hi dunk:) i'm also really into the black timberland looking ones with the neon yellow/green sole. not really what i like normally, but they seem pretty damn cool and are called lunar path ETW quickstrike - kinda major.

welcome to the dark side

so it's my bday coming up and my fantabulous sister got me.... adidas mid forum death stars!! JEEEEEEAAAAHHH! it's been about an age since i last bought a pair and i really do love these. i was on the phone with the guy at the sneaker store in singapore (Limited Edt - find it on facebook or go to limitededt.com) they have some really great things and i can't wait to go there for myself and check it out. so the death stars are very.. dark. you can get shoes from the dark side or the light side and they have 3 pairs for each. this is from the recent star wars 2 adidas launch, the first launch also being pretty sweet.

as you can see in the 3rd and 5th pic, the straps sit at an angle, it's a bit weird and i think i'll have to wear high socks with these ones cos if not the strap can rub onto your ankle and that is the WORST. i think a clever shoe is one that has removable straps, but i like the aesthetic of these anyway. ooh and also i got some sneaker cleaner - SUEDE CLEANING IS POSSIBLE. and it's actually an organic type of sneaker cleaners - it's made out of natural soaps derived from coconut and jojoba oils AND the brand is also researching solutions that will slow or ultimately prevent yellowing of sneakers. haven't tried it out yet but really excited to see if they work well on suede and mesh. i must sound pretty lame to you:)

the beijing edition

my super great friend marc is living in beijing atm and cos i'm lacking good sneaker material in kl, he took some awesome pics of all the sweet sneaker stuff that beijing has to offer. all the pics i put up are of the selection i really loved, especially the orange and black quilted blazers and also the colourful Y-3 pair with the super chunky sole (which i'm not so hot about).. but i like the pattern:) he also told me near his office there's a sneaker cleaning/revitalising store where you can get your kicks revitalised for i think RM30 a pair? which is awesome, i'm thinking of sending him a whole bunch to get them clean. marc, just letting you know now. but i saw 3 pairs that he had cleaned and they look mint as now..

also, i have no idea how far away kuching is but i was told there's a real cool sneaker store there and they have loads of cool SB's and some limited editions. road trip, anyone?

sneakerspotting

hello! i saw some cool stuff last night - a S U P E R   D E L I C I O U S colourway of air yeezys worn by kl dj nesh. i asked him where he got them(i've never seen yeezy's sold in malaysia) and of course, nike gave them to him/joe flizzow a month before yeezys dropped. hamagad.

next, i saw some dude in the bathrooms wearing dr feelgoods, he got them from ebay (it was a unisex bathroom fyi) i really like the pop of these shoes and how they've got like a dinosaur eggshell print. love the green on green on green with white and a bit of red, really clever use of colour here.

then here is my new model, bradley boo and he's sitting next to an awesome spike lee singlet/dress i got in koh samui - for rm35 whadduuup! and just yesterday i got my first of 4 sneaker freakers in the mail plus a poster and 2 stickers:D the poster is actually pretty average and nothing to do with sneakers, haven't given the bookazine a proper read through yet, but more or less working for sneakerfreaker is my IDEAL dream job! it's a shame it's only a bi-annual publication, no?

oh jeremy

i've been so missing in action it's not funny, i started a job and have little to no time for myself. buuuut i've seen a few interesting things in the past 2 weeks. firstly the adidas vespa, does someone want to buy that for me? then, at juice store in bangsar (really really cool store btw, next to maccas) i saw JEREMY SCOTT MICKEY MOUSE shoes wooooo! but they're RM560 or so, like no joke. apparently you can get them for RM480 at pavillion. but i was having a discussion with a fellow sneakerhead, who was wearing orange hi dunks from the infamous sneaker street in Hong Kong, and we were totals discussing these kicks. it would be great to get these shoes, but i don't think i could wear them out, the mouse ears look like they could be easily destroyed. thus, they'd be nice to have, but never to wear. spending around RM500 for something you'll never wear? .....when i start getting paid hahaha.

then i know the 2 bottom pics aren't sneakers really but i thought they were really cool i saw them at a fashion show where the models looked like Harajuku district vomited all over them. btw thanks for my 8 followers, i didn't realise i have 2 more now. i know i don't update very often but i plan to devote lots of effort into this site once i have more time/inspiration from sneakers - sneakerspiration? LOVE you guys!

collector's guide

so i know i've been totals M.I.A. for a while, i went to thailand for a few days and prior to that i was losing hope in getting any sneaker inspiration from being in KL. i literally know of one boutique sneaker store whose range is minimal and stock is stale, not to mention super expensive. however when i got back i found a vans store plus a skateboard shop that sells supras and nike sb's(which i'm keen to get a pair of) though their models aren't that great. so more or less for my blog to blossom i need to be in a country where there's more of a sneaker culture!

anyways, my sister ordered me this awesome sneaker history book from amazon - the complete collector's guide. it's literally reads the history of all the big guns; adidas, nike, puma and so forth and goes through all the super vintage shoes - deadstocks, first editions and all that. really cool book if you want to up your sneaker knowledge but it doesn't cover any new kicks/trends. the onitsuka tigers you see above are an awesome pair, unfortunately not my own. the white and maroon-y purple colourway is a really great match. my sister picked these up from berlin 2 years ago. the toe box is lined with suede and the chunky collar is a kind of shiny snake skin print - very cool. these shoes are really easy to pair with clothes.

i know i always bitch about having small feet/not being able to find cool shoes my size. i thought the last pic was funny, for anyone who has the polar opposite shoe problem. ifshoescouldkill.com is actually a pretty random yet interesting site about nuts shoes:)
